On Sunday, around 2:00 p.m., a couple was attempting to cut down a tree in their yard when the husband accidentally hit his wife in the neck with a chain saw. An Allegan County Sheriff’s Deputy lives nearby and heard cries for help and rushed over.
The Deputy attempted to offer as much aid to the woman as he could, but she died at the scene. The incident remains under investigation, but there does not appear to be any foul play.
