Please be on the lookout for two recently recalled products, as they can both create potential hazard and safety risk in you or your children. The first product is the 10 Speed SRAM Bicycle Chain with PowerLock connector links. SRAM LLC is recalling approximately 24,000 of the links after they discovered that the chains are brittle and can crack, resulting in the chain separating from the bicycle and creating a falling hazard to the bike rider.

The SRAM PowerLock connector links are sold individually, on 10-speed bicycle chains and also as original equipment on some bicycles. Recalled links had the following chain model numbers: PC-1030, PC-1050, PC-1070, PC-1090, and PC-1090R. The chains were also installed on some Guru, Surley, Salsa, BMC, Serotta, Seven, and Ridley brand bicycles. The separate PowerLock connectors were sold between January and August 2009 and the bicycles that came with the affected chains were sold between April and August 2009. The SRAM LLC urges consumers to contact their local SRAM retailer for a free replacement PowerLock connector link.

The second product affected by a recall is Team Work Trading children’s masks and pendants. About 1,400 masks were recalled after the company discovered that the products contained high levels of lead. The children’s mask resembles the face of a cat and the pendants came in four styles: a dog tag with a fire symbol, a knife and lion symbol, a Mickey Mouse symbol, and a burning sun symbol. The pendants were sold with silver-colored chains and were sold at Team Work Trading stores between November 2008 and March 2009. Consumers can contact Team Work Trading for a refund or exchange.
