Children’s Furniture Recalled After Child is Poisoned by Lead Paint

The Consumer Product Safety Commission has announced a recall for over 3,000 cribs and 6,000 matching furniture pieces after discovering that red paint underneath a black finish contained lead paint. The cribs and furniture are manufactured by Munire Furniture, Inc. The product’s name is described as "Newport Rubbed Black 4-in-1 Cribs and Matching Furniture." If you have purchased one of these items remove the products from your home immediately and contact Munire Furniture to receive a replacement coupon.

The company has received one report of a child suffering from lead poisoning If you have one of these products in your home and are concerned about your child’s health, take them to an emergency room for immediate treatment. Common symptoms of lead poisoning are: stomachaches, constipation, diarrhea, nausea, vomiting, persistent unexplained fatigue, headache and muscle weakness.
