On Thursday, California Superior Court Judge Beth Freeman awarded Tricia Roth $45 Million in damages for injuries sustained in a September 2006 accident in San Mateo. Ms. Roth, a former software developer for Microsoft, suffered a broken neck and spinal injuries when she was hit by a truck owned by Division 1 All Service, a wrecking and demolition company. The company’s driver, Roman Pantoja, admitted he was at fault when he ran a red light which caused the accident. As a result, Ms. Roth, who is now 41, is paralyzed, requires constant attendant care, and will never walk again.
